WHY AM I DOING THIS?
The Dream Route - Why The Hell from Marcis Plavins on Vimeo.
While riding a 23-year-old 125cc Minsk motorcycle from Latvia to India I have already managed to feel, see and experience a lifetime of little tiny moments. Not every day is a happy day and not every road is a perfect road but at the end of the days it's these little moments that truely matter.

HOW DID I COME TO THIS?
Hi there! My name is Marcis and I'm 30 years young. In 2009 I left a nice job back in Latvia and with 200 euros in my pocket and an insanely heavy backpack but with a strong dream of seeing the world I started hitch-hiking from Latvia towards western Europe. I played ukulele on the streets of Venice, I took some scetchy rides with weird people, I slept in parks and found my way to Lisbon, Portugal. I hitch-hiked a yacht across the Atlantic ocean, spend amazing time in Barbados, went to Costa Rica and up to Mexico, ate tamales on the steps of the Palenque Palace, listened to Kings of Leon in USA, discovered my second family near Buffalo, NY and flew back home after one year of unforgettable experiences.
While on a chicken-bus in Honduras I saw these great mountains and forests and valleys, and I thought to myself - "Shit, that would be nice to travel here with a bike. Stopping wherever you want, going wherever your heart desires". I had never ridden a bike before.

WHY THIS "CAMPAIGN"?
6 years passed and I got my bike - a 1992 Minsk, 2 stroke, 125cc which is basically a moped bike and started my way to India on May 25th, 2015. I had planned the route, I had planned the money I'm gonna need, but... there's always a BUT - I am not good at planning things. So right now everything is changing - India is no more an option, the winter is coming and the money is melting. I am in Istanbul, Turkey right now and I still have enough money to survive for one month. This would mean a short trip through Turkey, Georgia and back through Russia to Latvia. But if you want to hear and see more stories, if you feel like you're with me while reading the blog and seeing the pictures and videos, if you want some goodies made specially for you with all my love and all my Thank-you's and respect, I will be grateful if you join in. If I raise enough money with your help, the trip will go on from Georgia to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazahstan and only then Russia before coming back to Latvia before snow starts falling.
Thank you for reading this till the end and I wish you fulfill your dreams because we all have some.
